The collaboration between Credit Suisse and Delphix has been nominated for Best DevOps Transformation in the Computing DevOps Excellence awards and Best Use of IT in Wholesale & Investment Banking in the FS tech awards 2018.

Credit Suisse believes technology is a commercial differentiator, but managing over 15,000 databases and 62,500 servers across 40 countries was challenging their goal to fully embrace DevOps by 2020.

Credit Suisse partnered with Delphix to help enable DevOps within the bank, which will ultimately reduce infrastructure costs and improve IT efficiency. Since mid-2017, the DevOps approach has been successful, with more than 20,000 production release changes.

“Banking today is a technology business,” explained Allan Olesen, Vice President, Hosting and Data Center Services at Credit Suisse.  “However, this creates new demands on IT – from developing new rapid trading programmes to improving the efficiency of our global infrastructure technology. To meet the growing needs of the business, we needed to think differently about how we manage data.”

“A bank as large and as complex as Credit Suisse embracing DevOps is truly impressive. We are delighted that the hard work by Credit Suisse is being recognised within the financial services technology and DevOps industries,” said Iain Chidgey, General Manager of EMEA, Delphix.
