10 Ways to Enforce Cloud Security- Needs One More
Harold Moss, CTO of Cloud Security Strategy at IBM shared some very sound tips on how to truly ensure a secure cloud computing environment. They include important steps such as to: "Identify foundational controls," which essentially are the methods your company uses to protect its assets. "Build consensus early" so everyone is on board not only for how the cloud is used, but also how it will be secured. Knowledge is power! "Conduct a security evaluation," so the company knows what they're dealing with. You can read all of the suggested steps in the article, of course, but one thing I wanted to add beyond all of the awareness and perimeter measures is the actual process of locking down data directly. The cloud is such an innovative and valuable tool in general, but like any other environment, if an intruder gets in or information is lost, the "horse is out of the barn" and there's not a lot you can do to "bring it back in" without lasting repercussions.
