WeAreDelphix: Meet Zhiyun Zhang
What do you do at Delphix and what inspired you to join the company?
As a customer success operations manager, I’m responsible for building and rolling out processes, programs, and tools to improve our customer success organization’s productivity and effectiveness. I also manage our training portal for both employees and customers.
When I first joined Delphix in 2017, I was a training coordinator on the customer education and experience team, where I had the opportunity to dive deep into learning and development (L&D). Like many of us at Delphix, I was inspired to join the company because of the people. It’s the people that make Delphix a great place to work.
My manager at the time gave me the opportunity to work on a number of cross-functional projects that opened new doors and helped expand my skills and knowledge. Last year, I transitioned into my current role, where I build and implement advanced analytics solutions to help inform and drive customer success objectives, strategy, and processes that scale.

Delphix eLearning. I have been managing Delphix’s training portal for three and half years. We have a robust product curriculum to ensure our customers have a successful journey with Delphix. We also offer extensive content on competency levels to empower our partners. For employees, we have role-based learning materials for onboarding and professional development.
What’s the coolest project you’ve worked on at Delphix?
I’m most proud of my involvement and work with the DASH for Partners program, now referred to as the Delphix Academy for Partners. We even won the Lenny Award for Best Partner Training Program by SAP Litmos in 2019. I worked cross-functionally to build this program from scratch and launch it successfully within a short time frame. We’ve been able to collect and track learners’ feedback and outcomes to continue making improvements to the program. It was a rewarding experience being able to contribute to our partner enablement initiatives and gain a deeper knowledge about Delphix’s game-changing technology in the data space.
What are your hobbies or passions outside of Delphix?
I enjoy hiking all year round in the beautiful California weather. During COVID, I also started brush lettering and calligraphy. I find it to be a relaxing and even therapeutic hobby. I highly recommend it if you want to exercise your creativity and get less screen time.

Solving problems gives me a sense of accomplishment knowing that my knowledge and experience can help others to troubleshoot an issue or improve a process. I also love that it encourages me to learn about new things all the time.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. - Lao Tzu
This Chinese proverb highlights the importance of determination and concentration. It gives me courage to face all the different challenges in life. It’s a great reminder that no matter how hard something is, it’s possible to overcome it one step at a time. Take the initial move, and the rest will fall into place.
