Database Virtualization Accelerates Oracle EBS Upgrades

Database Virtualization Accelerates Oracle EBS Upgrades

WEBCAST SHOWCASES INCREASED AGILITY, TIME SAVED, AND DECREASED STORAGE REQUIREMENTS USING DELPHIX SERVER

MENLO PARK, CA - February 3rd, 2011--Delphix, the market-leading provider of database virtualization software, today announced that Oracle E-Business Suite customers facing the upgrade process from Release 11 to Release 12 now have the opportunity to dramatically reduce project risk for a successful upgrade, reduce the time of the upgrade, and cut additional storage requirements by a factor of 12:1 using Delphix Server. A webcast describing how database virtualization can simplify this upgrade will be held February 8, 2011, at 11 AM. The webcast will feature a customer discussing an Oracle EBS upgrade while using Delphix Server.

Delphix applies the simplifying concept of virtualization to database infrastructure, turning structured data and its supporting infrastructure into software that operates in a fraction of the space, while preserving full functionality and performance. Customers of Delphix Server include members of the Fortune 1000 across major industries, including finance, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, retail, manufacturing, consumer goods, technology, and SaaS. One Delphix customer, a leading medical device manufacturer, recently deployed Delphix to simplify the EBS upgrade process. They were able to take a 600GB database and create multiple virtual databases using only 250 MB (99.95% storage consolidation) to test the upgrade process and ease the data migration process from R11 to R12.

"Organizations planning Oracle E-Business Suite upgrades face many time-consuming tasks in order to test the new technology stack and customize the applications," said Karthik Rau, Delphix Vice President, Products and Marketing. "Delphix virtual databases help businesses reduce project timelines and risks by automating provisioning and refreshes, which enables better testing and training, while eliminating additional storage requirements."
