Delphix Positioned as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Structured Data Archiving and Application Retirement

Leadership Position Based on Gartner's Evaluation of Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute

MENLO PARK, Calif., June 23, 2015 - Delphix, the market leader in Data as a Service, today announced that Gartner, Inc. positioned Delphix in the Leaders quadrant of the June 16, 2015 "Magic Quadrant for Structured Data Archiving and Application Retirement." 1

Gartner defines storage optimization of structured data archiving as a means to reduce the volume of data in production instances and the requirement to maintain seamless data access. Gartner notes that the benefits of using this technology include reduced capital expenditures (capex) and operating expenditures (opex), as well as improved information governance and lower risk of regulatory compliance violations, and access to secondary data for reporting and analysis.

Enterprises and government agencies globally are modernizing their IT architectures for a cloud-based, service-driven world, and data is the centerpiece of these new environments. Yet many organizations struggle to manage growing applications and data as they migrate from legacy data centers to private, public and hybrid clouds.

In particular, cloud migrations and application retirement projects must be completed without disrupting existing operations. Delphix delivers a solution for archiving databases, file systems and applications that preserves all functionality and state. The solution essentially provides an "undo" button that enables customers to restore systems in minutes, dramatically reducing risk during migration and retirement projects.

"Data as a Service accelerates, secures, and simplifies the way customers manage data on premises and in the cloud," said Jedidiah Yueh, CEO of Delphix. "We believe Gartner's recognition of Delphix as a Leader in its Magic Quadrant for Structured Data Archiving and Application Retirement further validates the Delphix platform for a key use case--data archiving and instant recovery--as customers modernize their IT infrastructures."
