Data can play a central role in an organization’s key technology initiatives, but it can be a blocker to innovation if it’s inaccessible. California State University wanted to harness existing data across its 20+ campuses to create a centralized view of its data, identify areas for improvement, and provide real-time analysis to help improve students' academic experience. To support a data initiative of this magnitude, the university first focused on its DevOps strategy to streamline the application delivery pipeline and migrate to a flexible cloud architecture.
CSU worked with Unisys to implement a DevOps strategy built on Delphix Dynamic Data Platform and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The Delphix Dynamic Data Platform combined with AWS goes beyond focusing only on code and infrastructure and addresses the common issue of data, transforming how data is migrated to the cloud and managed during application testing and cutover rehearsal.
Now CSU can rapidly provision self-service, secure data for development and test teams—helping dramatically improve release cycle times and reduce data-related errors. With a unified view of data across its campuses, the university can use its data to deliver innovation faster.
